Boiler problems, no hot water, anything we can do?
We just bought a flat and moved in last week. Already our boiler seems to not be working and is no longer heating water. Our flat is entirely electric. The switches for "on peak" and "off peak" are both not lighting up (the on peak switch was working for the first few days, but no longer). We replaced the fuse and still nothing. We had a heating engineer take a quick look at it and he quoted £1800 to replace the cylinder. We asked if we could get an electric combi instead to conserve space, but he said it probably wasn't compatible with our setup. Is that true? Is there anything else we can try before we commit to this? We've just spent a lot on getting moved in so the timing isn't great. Any insight or advice is welcome as we don't know the first thing about boilers. :(
